Pearson's MyLabsPlus can be used to augment classroom instruction and maintain a course of study in the event of school closures due to H1N1 or other crisis situations. The MyLabsPlus online teaching and learning environment will offer nominal cost courses ($15 per student for each course for 30 days) for middle and high school Algebra, Advanced Algebra, Geometry, Algebra Readiness, Reading, and Writing, including easy-to-use homework, personalized study plans, guided solutions, multimedia learning aids, quizzes and tests.

The MyLabsPlus Technical Support Helpdesk will provide 24/7 phone, e-mail, and chat support for students and instructors working in their courses.

"Knowledge Power" Take Home Learning Kits

The Take Home Learning Kits, available for Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8, are designed to provide supplemental learning materials in the event that students must spend time away from school. Schools may choose to purchase the standalone mathematics and language arts Knowledge Power workbook for $7—or add one or more science and social studies readers from the Pearson library. Pearson SuccessNet logo
For schools already using a Pearson program, our Pearson SuccessNet Web site helps teachers reach out to students, even when they are unable to attend classes. It provides access to online textbooks and other learning resources, as well as digital assets to aid in learning. For some courses, it provides the ability to assign activities and assessments and monitor the results.

NovaNET logo
Schools whose middle and high school students are using the online NovaNET self-paced program as a core curriculum or for credit recovery will have the option of purchasing additional access at a reduced rate and on a monthly basis. Each additional provides access for up to ten students. Each port costs $175 per port, including support. In addition, DVDs for home use will be available at $5 per student. The reduced-price per port is available to customers to add temporary additional capacity at a fraction of the annual subscription price. The monthly subscriptions can be renewed on a month-to-month basis to provide the greatest flexibility.
