For Parents
At-Home Learning
If your child is home with H1N1 flu or their school is closed for a period of time, it is important to minimize the disruption to learning. Pearson's collection of Web sites and online tools offer parents information, help, and support to keep the learning going. Stay connected with teachers and administrators during a school closure or extended absence. You can help ensure your child remains academically challenged and doesn't fall behind.

Pearson's MyLabsPlus can be used to augment classroom instruction and maintain a course of study in the event of school closures due to H1N1 or other crisis situations. The MyLabsPlus online teaching and learning environment will offer schools the option of nominal cost courses for middle and high school Algebra, Advanced Algebra, Geometry, Algebra Readiness, Reading, and Writing, including easy-to-use homework, personalized study plans, guided solutions, multimedia learning aids, quizzes and tests. The MyLabsPlus Technical Support Helpdesk will provide 24/7 phone, e-mail, and chat support for students and instructors working in their courses.
MyLabsPlus is only available through a school purchase. To find out if your school already has access, contact your child's teacher.
"Knowledge Power" Take Home Learning Kits
The Take Home Learning Kits, available for Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8, are designed to maintain continuity of learning in the event that students must spend time away from school. The Knowledge Power flip books—mathematics lessons when opened one way and language arts lessons when opened the other—provide supplemental activities for learning and retention. Parents can order grade-specific Knowledge Power flip books and science and social studies readers from the Pearson library by calling Customer Service at 1-800-321-3106.
Questions?

If your child is using a Pearson program (including the Prentice Hall and Scott Foresman brands), our ebooks at Pearson SuccessNet will help your child learn even when they are not able to go to school, by providing online access to textbooks. In some cases, students may also have access to their class assignments, including tests. To find out if your child has access to Pearson SuccessNet, contact your child's teacher.
Questions?

NovaNET is an online learning program purchased by schools that allows middle and high school students to work from home, keep up with their schoolwork or recover credits for high school graduation. Teachers can monitor a student's work in NovaNET and provide assistance. Access to an Internet connection is necessary to use NovaNET. To find out if your school has the NovaNET program, please contact your child's teacher or principal.
